VitaC | Public housing policies and right to the city: challenges in the Lusophone countries – Maíra Vucovix Supervised by Prof. Ana Sá & Prof. Fernando Nunes da Silva

Socio-spatial segregation in Lusophone cities exposes persistent inequalities in the reproduction of the built environment. This PhD research assesses past experiences in public housing policies and their intersections with territorial planning, identifying shortcomings and highlighting best practices. This opens new perspectives, offering alternatives to the exponential production of housing units as the primary solution to existing precarious conditions.

VitaC is a monthly seminar series that aims to explore and highlight the latest research initiatives at CiTUA. The series aims to provide a dynamic platform for researchers to present their work, engage in diverse debates and promote innovation through collaboration.

The event takes place at the DECivil Museum from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and can also be followed  via zoom.
